JPCL2019

The Japanese-Chilean symposium on resilient and sustainable architecture for coping with natural hazards. Mutual cooperation and future challenges.

The symposium

The project consists on a scientific meeting and symposium involving Japanese and Chilean participants in a topic of interest for both counterparts: Both Japan and Chile are countries that face important natural hazards (climate change, earthquakes, tsunamis…) which greatly affect their built environment, their cities, their urban planning, their collective memory and their societies. The project is focused on a concrete case study: The earthquake and tsunami of 2010 in greater Concepción area.
