María Isabel López Meza

Architect, professor in the Department of Urban planning and design of the University of Bío-Bío. FONDECYT researcher. Her main area of interest is the recovery and urban management of heritage areas. She has studies on historic preservation, planning, sustainable development; her research lines are industrial mining heritage and sustainable development.

She has been the advisor for numerous bachelor, master and PhD thesis in the Doctoral program of architecture and urban design of the UBB (DAU), as well as UFMG (Brasil). She has been awarded with a variety of prizes in design (street furniture, public space and architectural design)

Arquitecta, docente del Departamento de Planificación y Diseño Urbano UBB e investigadora Fondecyt y UBB. Su área principal de investigación es la recuperación y gestión urbana de áreas patrimoniales. Posee estudios de preservación histórica, planificación y desarrollo sustentable con una línea de investigación sobre patrimonio minero industrial y desarrollo sostenible.

Ha guiado diversas tesis para optar al grado de Licenciado en Arquitectura, y actualmente se encuentra guiando tesis de Doctorado en el programa DAU de la UBB; y co-tutoriando Tesis de la UFMG, Brasil. Ha sido premiada en diversos concursos de diseño (de mobiliario urbano, espacio público y diseño arquitectónico).
